forestART Fashion Camp
April 22-24, 2025
9am-3:30pm

Registration $225
(including  materials)

Join us at the Jack Millikin Centre for a 3 day forestART Fashion Camp with local sewist Jenny Ambrose!

To celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd, we will have a repurposing component to our design work. Reducing, reusing, and recycling has never looked cuter because kids will be transforming all of their old and unworn clothes into runway-ready couture in our forestART Fashion Camp!

About the Course
Kids can unleash their creativity and spend three days playing with vibrant, colourful fabrics and a variety of embellishments (ribbon and buttons, oh my!) to give some much-needed pizzazz to any unused clothing item. Plain sweatshirts, sweaters and jackets, that shirt with a funny stain, items sitting in the donation pile, pants that are a little too short… if it’s no longer being used, bring it to the camp!

We'll look at all kinds of options for repurposing old jeans and creative as well as visible mending techniques. Will kids add ruffles to that skirt that hasn’t fit for a while? How about turning mom’s old scarf into an adorable dress? Could they take a pretty fabric and, along with some decorative stitches, patch the hole on those pants? They can create whatever comes to their young fashion designer minds! At the end of the camp, we’ll host a short fashion show, in which kids will be able to model their amazing creations!

Experience Level

No previous sewing experience is required to attend this camp. Kids will learn everything that they need to know using a sewing machine safely during their first day.
